TOP 5 BEACHES IN NEW ENGLAND

TOP 5 BEACHES IN NEW ENGLAND

Exploring the New England coast onboard a superyacht is an experience like no other; you can discover some of the best beaches the area has to offer Here are our recommendations for the top 5 beaches in the incomparable setting of New England.

1. Good Harbour Beach, Gloucester
Warm waters and white sand characterise this area of New England, and Good Harbour Beach is no exception. Clear warm waters, rock pools and tide pools for exploring will keep you entertained all day. When the tide goes out you can even walk out across the damp sand to Salt Island.

 2. Bound Brook, Cape Cod
With access by a mile long trek down a dirt road, Bound Brook is the most remote beach on Cape Cod. You can reach the beach with ease, and step off your yacht into the romantic isolation of this special spot. Those who are up for a hike can walk up the 50 foot high hill to capture views all the way to Plymouth, and when the tide goes out, explore the rock pools amongst the sand bars.

3. The Inkwell, Martha’s Vineyard Island
Other than by yacht, the only way to get to this island is a 75 minute bus and 45 minute ferry ride, meaning you can be assured that your fellow visitors will be few. The quiet, peaceful beach is an ideal spot to relax and enjoy the serenity. Calm seas and beautiful scenery make this beach a lovely spot for swimmers, paddlers and sunbathers alike.

4. Dionis Beach, Nantucket
Nantucket is the epitome of romantic island beaches. Whilst one side of the island is a bustling town and popular beach region, the other side hides beautiful private homes and secluded beaches. Dionis is a detour from the main roads, so you won’t see many tourists on this side. Venture inland from the beach for a taste of local life and sample some of the fresh fish served up in nearby restaurants.

5. Ogunquit Beach, Maine
Maine is not the first place you think of for beautiful beaches, but the almost endless stretch of golden sand on Ogunquit will leave you breathless. Relax on the warm sands, swim in the refreshing waters, or just wander along the tide line with your toes in the water. For something a little more invigorating, follow the mile-long cliff walk, or to find some seclusion head to the historic pedestrian footbridge and the nearby Footbridge beach.
