Villa Orpheus is a great beauty. Built in the classic, sugar-cube style of the Cycladic islands, it has been decorated by a South African interior designer in a sophisticated, monochromatic scheme and hung with significant, large-scale artwork from the owners’ private collection. There are five big en-suite double bedrooms (one a selfcontained apartment), two kitchens and enough outdoor space to happily absorb 10 adults (children are also welcome). The villa is high on a hill in the secluded Kanalia district, four kilometres from Mykonos Town, and there are views of Delos from the pool. The hotel-size bar is stocked with soft drinks, beers, wines and spirits, and the Bowers & Wilkins sound system would put the island’s Cavo Paradiso club to shame.
Villa Orpheus sleeps 10 and is available May-September at €11,410-€22,260 per week.
